There have been a few recent releases of the ubuntu phone and I would love to get one that will work on the Verizon Network.

Has anyone had a chance to review the latest specs? Would this be compatible?

Aquaris E5 HD Specs:

3G + (HSPA+/UMTS/GSM)

A-GPS, GPS

Bands supported: GSM (850, 900, 1800 and 1900) and UMTS (900, 2100)

Aquaris E4.5 Spcs:

3G + (HSPA+/UMTS/GSM)

A-GPS, GPS

Bands supportedGSM (850, 900, 1800 and 1900) and UMTS (900, 2100)

There is also a new Meizu Pro 5 with potentially different connectivity specs.

Any hope here? It would be a real pain to have to buy it and have two plans with two different carriers for our families phones.

The spec's dont show them working on Verizon. The new Meizu MX6 Ubuntu Edition, however, will. The US release date is expected in January/February 2017. My family has been Verizon customers for 20 years. We love them. That said, they ARE "stodgy". They could do with a quick campaign to announce this to the tiny market of propeller heads (you and I, and maybe a couple of hundred other similar nuts). They'd loose money on it. But the news coverage! every tech publication in the US would cover it. reviewers, who tend to be tech crazies, too, would drool over it and Verizon would get thousands of pages of free press, portraying them as a cutting edge hi tech company.
