Apologize if this is redundant but... two iPhone 4's will cost me how much? Details:
I'm an existing customer and I qualify for upgrade in three days. I want to step up to a smart phone (iPhone 4). My wife (not currently a Verizon customer) is interested in an iPhone 4, too. She'd be willing to step into Verizon world and get in on a shared plan with me.
As I understand it, with a 2-year contract, I can get a free iPhone 4. Is the only way for her to join me as I've outlined by buying her iPhone full price?
Is there a way for us to get 2 free iPhones without 2 separate 2-year contracts? We prefer a shared plan and having to pay full price for even one of the phones is a deal breaker.
Thanks.

Unless you are willing to sign a 2yr contract, you will not be able to get a free iPhone 4.
You are correct that you can get a free iPhone 4 by signing a new 2yr contract when you become eligible for a discounted upgrade.
If you add your wife to your account and sign a new 2yr contract for her line, you would also be able to get a free iPhone 4 for her. If you are unwilling to sign a 2yr contract for her line, you would have to pay full price for her phone. However, you could try eBay or Swappa.com for a used phone which you could then activate on a new line of service without signing a new 2yr contract.

thank you. you're confirming what i imagined. i suppose it is fairly clear - and logical to boot - i was hoping someone had a magic bullet for me, that's all.
perhaps we'll round up a good deal on the second iPhone elsewhere at our leisure and re-contract to the shared plan at that point. i know eBay well. thanks for recommending Swappa - never heard of it. will pay it a visit. thanks again.
