dear Verizon community,

i was on the phone with verizon yesterday for 2h 20 min.

Have a simple plan, 2 iphone 5 at $40/mo that are now past 2y commit. 3rd phone at $40/mo expires next year. Share everything data plan of 4GB at $70/mo. I wanted a better plan

Marilyn from customer service spends 1.5h with me and changes it to the following :

1. Loyalty discount on the 2 phones at 50% for 12mo which should cut the bill to $20/mo on 2 phones

2. 10% discount on the 3rd phone. Makes it $36/mo

3. Data plan promotion to $50/mo for 4G.

4. Add an iPhone 6Plus 16G for $31/mo Edge and $15/mo for voice totaling $46/mo.

5. Leave International dial on 2 phones for $4/mo each totaling $8/mo

i was happily transferred to sales To move my 4th phone but here is where the issue started.

1. Marilyn moved me to $80/mo 10G data plan!

2. We waited (sales and I) on the phone for 45m to try to get her back including Her supervisor but no effect. Finally we gave Up!

today I login and find that nothing on my plan has changed.... It's now

$40/mo for 2 phones, $36/mo for the 3rd phone and 10G data plan making it $196/mo for 3 lines!!! before taxes where as it should have been

$20+$20+$8+$36+$46+$50 for 4 lines and 4G data. Total $190/mo. Plus $150 credit over 2 mo for bringing over a phone.

More over I now find VZW has 4 lines and $140/mo plan for 10G plan! Why this deception game?

looking forward to some resolution soon!

Thanks.

1. I wanted to first get the plan that was to be delivered, the loyalty discount and 4G totaling $134 for 3 lines.

2. Then we can evaluate any new plans.

I have 3 emails today from verizon all converting me to $200 for 3 lines and 10G.

Can we start there?

I am having the same issue with mine.  I emailed the CEO of Verizon Wireless and contacted the BBB.  We will see if mine gets resolved.

Theanujkumar, sorry for any confusion. That pricing is contigent upon you edging up to a new device. That discount will apply to each line that Edges up. However, please be advised that the pricing of your equipment installment payment will be in addition to your plan.

You are better of with 10 GB since it gives you bigger per line reduction

forget the loyalty reduction to $20, add the $25 month to month reduction for lines off contract, or $15/m

the 4 lines for $140 is not including the cost of the phones which have to be new ones edge plans. Or all 4 lines being off contract. Those are the only 2 ways you get 4 lines and 10 GB for $140.

By the way if you have phones off contract just log in and activate your month to month discount. On 10 GB or more it's $25 per line that's off contract. So not sure what your beef is.

Based on your original plan you'd pay $80 for 10 GB, $15 each for the 2 lines off contract and $40 for the line still on contract. That's $150 for 3 lines and 10 GB plus taxes and fees.

Agreed. However the total would then be

$15+$15+$36+$8(International)+$80(10G)=$152. Vs $20+$20+$36+$8+$50=$134

If I port a line over - then 10G might make sense as the plan for Edge is better for 10G vs. 4G. ($15/mo vs $25/m)

  • are you sure on the $20, I have not seen that before, only $25/month
  • Depends if if you go over data any moths, otherwise savings quickly gone.

I believe there are some discounts, such as the 50% off your line access, that you will not see when you look online. Online you just see your $40 line access fee, the discount is in the background. Have you actually seen your bill without all of the discounts offered? Or has anyone looked into the details for you? You've outlined the offers pretty well, so someone from Vzn should be able to confirm whether or not the discounts have been applied.
