Termination fee for poor coverage

I had been a customer with Verizon for 10 years.  I had to leave their service because I was having my calls dropped in a new town I moved to.  I work on call.  I called to cancel my service and was told I would be charged a termination fee.  Under the circumstance, that Verizon's service was inadequate, I stated this was unfair.  I was given a number to call to try to remove the charge. No one picked up.   Now if I call,  the system recognizes my number and automatically drops me.  I've been put on a list.  After 10 years of service and thousands of dollars of patronage Verizon is being petty about a small fee.  This is terrible service. I'm being forced to pay and worse, ignored.   Move to another carrier if you can.   I will never do service with Verizon again.

You pretty much have to get proven documentation of poor coverage from network tickets and other reps and create a paper trail BEFORE you cancel based on coverage.

Snn5 is correct in that you have to have a paper trail before ending the contract. The issue I see here is that you moved to a different location than when you received the contract, therfore Verizon is not obligated to waive the ETF for poor coverage in the new area. (think of it this way, if you bought a new top-of-the-line device and then moved to a area with poor coverage then got the ETF waived....EVERYONE would be getting new devices then exploiting this loophole and walk away with e new phone for free.)
