Taping a phone conversatio

I have the env touch and I am aware that you can record the incoming phone call by using the space bar with the phone open. Can anyone tell me if you need to hold the button down or just tap it and how can you tell if you are recording a conversation while the phone is in use.

I tried this with my daughter's enV Touch and pressing/holding down the space bar does nothing.

I don't think you can record a call with this phone. If you try to navigate to the My Sounds option found in Media Center > Music & Tones to use the Record New option while in a call, you get an error message that you can't do it while on a call. Hopefully someone who knows if there is a way to do it on this phone will correct me. BTW, the phone is running the latest SW version VX11KV07.
