Switching Rebate

I switched to Verizon from AT&T months ago and filed everything for the per-line reimbursement for my fees related to the switch. I have heard nothing since I sent anything in except I did get a credit for the devices I traded in. The rebate site has nothing on my money. What is the deal Verizon?

what a surprise. After 3 months (I did exactly what I was supposed to do)

they have no record of my rebate....which I can resubmit because I keep all

that stuff. Not...

Thats 1200$ I'll never see.

what a big surprise. after doing exactly what I was supposed to do they had

been sitting on it because of some technicality. One line has simply

disappeared and, had I not called, wouldn't have gotten the other one. A

cumbersome needlessly complicated process that seems intended to fail for

the profit of Verizon. You can bet I'll be gone as soon as my obligation is

met.

I am going through the same process now. I switched to Verizon, traded in 4 phones, submitted all required documents THE NEXT DAY. Less than month later the rebate web site no longer had information about my rebate. I inquired and was told to resubmit (more information that I was initially required to submit). After checking every day and getting "Pending Validation", I now get a status of "Invalid". Reason: "Trade-in not received or received past the 60 day return period." I turned the phone in at the Verizon store and have submitted those receipts.

In a phone inquiry today I am told that the case is sent for review and I must wait 10 days for an answer.

I am really getting a feeling of Bait and Switch.

I will follow up after the 10 day waiting period with the results.

A different thread poster said he contacted the Better Business Bureau and got his rebate shortly thereafter. Sounds like a good option.

It has been a while since I switched. I got one rebate and never got the other. Money lost and I'm wiser for it. I'll probably go back to AT&T soon.

After "review" of my rebate status, my status is still invalid after waiting the required 10 days. I filed a complaint with my state Attorney General office. The next day I got a phone call from Verizon Executive Relations saying they would look into the matter and reply to the Attorney General.

I will follow up with results when I hear.

For all who don't get their rebates, don't give up. That's how these rebate contractors clean up. They know most people will just quit trying.

Follow-up to 7.Re:Switching Rebate

10 days after filing a complaint with the Attorney General office, I received my second call from the Verizon Executive Relations office. The representative asked for details on why I thought I should get the rebate offer in conjunction with another offer I received for trading in phones, basically questioning the validity of my complaint. I told him it was explicitly stated on the flyer that I had submitted and the Verizon store reps also told me I would get both the phone discount and the rebate for switching from AT&T.

He said he would check with their rebate department and get back with me. He called back the same day and claimed that the rebate department did not have my mailing address (not true as I have copies of BOTH of my rebate submissions). The original reason that the rebate web site stated was that they didn't receive my trade ins.

He stated that my rebates would be sent by FEDEX.

15 days later, 3 1/2 months after my original rebate submission, I have received all 4 of my $200 prepaid cards. Not sent by FEDEX, but I did get what I was supposed to get. $800.

My advice, don't give up. If you are at the end of the process with Verizon with no satisfaction and have all of your documentation, file with your state Attorney General office. That got a response for me almost immediately.
