Suspending a line

I've recently suspended my line because I'm staying overseas for a couple months.

I was wondering if you still pay bills when your phone is on hold.

You can suspend a line of service with or without billing.  If you don't specify, it's probably suspended with billing.  Without billing means your contract (and upgrade eligibility) will be extended for the length of the suspension.  If you suspend WITH billing, your contract end date and upgrade eligibility remain the same.
