On 10-18-14, I got two phones with Sprint. I currently had a Verizon JetPack, Verizon Home Connect and ATT GoPhone. I ported over the Home Connect and ATT numbers since they had previous meaning. Who knows or cares what the Jetpack number is. Then I find out that to qualify for the Early Termination refund from Sprint to cover the Verizon ETFs, I have to port two numbers from Verizon. But the Verizon accounts were both turned off at this point and both ETFs were listed on the final bill. To port the Jetpack number, I had to reactivate the one Verizon number, which was immediately ported to Sprint rendering the Jetpack useless, not that I intended to use it anyway.

One 12-9-14, I get a bill from Verizon for the "Reactivated month". Since the reactivation started after my billing cycle rolled over on the 3rd, they charged me for the remainder of the month from 11-7 to 12-3. I was hit for most of the 30GB of available data, and other usual fees for a total of $174. The bill shows I used no data. They said they can't terminate in mid-cycle even though it was obvious I wasn't going to use the data plan at all. Had I known about this upfront, I could have reduce the data plan to bare minimum. Worst case, I'd expect to get hit with a reactivation fee, which is ~$15.
