Stay or Go?

Long, long time Verizon customer.  I pay $296/mo for 4 phones.  Another carrier is offering $160 with more data.  Why should I stay?

Only problem is my wife and I just bought new phones.  Yeah, and after we purchased the new phones, we see ad on TV from Verizon that you can get phones free if you turn in your old phone.  Then a couple weeks later we get coupons in the mail for $$ off purchase of new phones.  Frustrating!  Is the Verizon service worth that much more?

I came from at&t, I switched because they didn't work well at my house. I have to say though there service everywhere else was as good or better than verizon and I never had a problem of bill issue in 4yrs where verizon I am constantly having problems and me and customer service go in circles to different departments. What good is lte everywhere if you get it but it doesn't work like they say it does. I am tired of paying top dollar and having my friends get their down loads faster with cheaper phones and plans. SWITCH!!

Being you do know about the $160 plan from ATT, I am sure you must know all about the full retail or NEXT options for phones, NO CONTRACT options at all with that plan! So now we are talking closer to $260 for 4 smartphones again. Deal? I think not! Sounds more like a Bait and Switch to me.

I've been doing a lot of looking myself. Right now, I pay $115 + taxes/fees for 2 smart phones and a home connect with unlimited talk/txt, but minimum data. I find that's all the data we need/use while at home, since we use our laptops and home wireless for 99% of internet usage. When we go to our vacation house in Florida, I raise the data to use a mobile hotspot with our laptops, but then drop it back again when we return home.

I could get more data for about the same monthly rate with other carriers (and pay full retail for their phone) , but would not use it, so why bother. The one thing that I don't like about Verizon is that once my two year contract ends, I still have to pay the same monthly rate, even though I've payed off the phone subsidy. It would be nice if my rate would drop comparatively.

To compensate, I'll probably get new phones, even though I don't need them, and sell the old one's on Craig's List. But then, of course, I'm locked into another two year contract. It's all a matter of give and take.

why is price still the same on Verizon after 2  yrs if it is a subsidy? why do they also charge a 30 dollar upgrade fee on top?just because they can.voice your opinion stand up be heard do not blindly go along paying these prices.there is a competition make them compete for our hard earned money.make them show they appreciate us with lower prices not phony promises of more.

Sprint charges upgrade fees, so does ATT! T-Mobile charges full retail for all phones and no contract options at all. As far as competition you show me a carrier who has the exact same coverage? That's right only ATT has anything remotely close and they charge the same prices! How can they even be considered competition? Hope those people never leave the city...

Needless to say, like you I have had Verizon for a long time (7 years) and am now changing. I stayed with them through their"change" of plans of unlimited data; I even got "misinformed" on that, and unintentionally gave up my unlimited data. Okay I even stayed with them when the prices started increasing. However this is the last straw. My son's line was not suspended when he went to war for a year; I remember thinking to call to get it suspended but according to their records, I did not. Long story. They however stated they would credit me for up to 6mos, the only problem is that someone later went in and reversed the credit.

No worries, I have had it.  So as of today, two of my five lines are with AT&T (great promotion by the way) and the other three will be as soon as their contract ends (two later this year and another late next year).

For the life of me though, I don't get it. Its not like Verizon would not have made up the difference in the credit for one line with my lines alone. Easily I was paying over $350 per month for all five lines for over four years, and for $240 credit they gave that up?  Where is the business sense!  I know AT&T thanks them.

Try again. Compare apples to apples. Version comes in at $180 with the same terms as the above plans from all carriers
