I was looking at changing to the start unlimited plan. It would save me $5 per line. I have go unlimited now. The only difference I can see is the start unlimited plan doesn't have mobile hotspot. But I was reading the fine print and it said if I have a phone I got with a discount I would be charged $20 extra dollars. Is that right ? I messaged Verizon and they said that was mainly for business accounts Does anyone know about this I don't won't to switch and then get hit with a $20 per line charge

Great questions, we want to make sure you get the help you need about your plan and rates. Were you able to enroll in our Disney+ promotion?
Regarding the plan rate per line, the rate will depend on how many lines you have on your account. You can review the pricing details using your My Verizon, if you try to change the plan it will give you a breakdown of the charges.

I think you responded to the wrong post.

Was the discount with a service contract or a device payment agreement?
The $20 per line is for lines under a service contract and not a device payment agreement.

Unless you have a 2 year contract for a smartphone, you don't get charged the extra $20. Go Unlimited has that same rule so if you aren't paying an extra $20 now, it doesn't apply to you.

I looked at the same "Start Unlimited" versus "Go Unlimited". What is keeping me from moving from Go to Start is the removal of the Hotspot and the slowing of streaming from 720 quality to 480. In looking at Plans - I don't actually see the "Go Unlimited" option listed (maybe because that's what I have?) - but I do see "Unlimited" for $5 more than what I currently pay for Go ($45 -v-$40). Wondering if "Go" is going to be "gone" and if I stay as is, my plan $$ will go up $5. Thoughts?

The "Go Unlimited Plan" was retired when Verizon Wireless added the Start Unlimited and the other current plans. Customers currently with the Go Unlimited Plan can keep it for as long as they want. However if you switch from that plan to one of the current plans, you can't switch back to the Go Unlimited Plan or any of the other retired plans if you don't like the plan you selected.

eventpublisher, Ann154 is correct as our Go Unlimited Plan is no longer being offered. The cost you pay right now for the Go Unlimited Plan will remain the same and your monthly cost will not change as long as you stay on the Go Unlimited Plan. Does this provide clarity?
You can compare our Unlimited Plans at the link attached here:

You are correct about the Start Unlimited Data Plan not having Mobile Hotspot included. However, because your account is postpaid, you can add the Mobile Hotspot feature to the plan manually through this link: https://myvpostpay.verizonwireless.com/myv/productsapps/. Keep in mind, it does cost extra per month. Therefore, if you want to still use Mobile Hotspot without paying extra for it, it might be a good idea for you to consider keeping your current plan. After all, your current unlimited data plan costs the same as the Start Unlimited plan.
