Speedtest: WiFi vs Mobile Data

Wonder why Speedtest.net app uses half the data to perform a test on WiFi vs the 45-50MB used to test my Verizon network speed.

You know I've noticed that as well and I don't have a good answer for you either.  Whenever I check my data usage I compared the times I took the speed tests with my billing records and they always coincide for higher data usage.  The thing is those speed tests usually didn't use that much data up or down unless I was not at home.  One day I was at my ophthalmologists office and I used 60 MB of data and all I did was loading 8 text pages because I was resetting a password.

I try to stray from paranoia and conspiracy theories, but......

Oh and those speed tests I ran early cost me 30 MB of data per line.  Can't explain that one.

Mine used 33mb before My Data Manager cut it off at 33mb as that is my daily limit set.

I stay on wifi at my home and boyfriends unless I'm running about outside which then uses the LTE.

I'm either WifI or nothing.  My 1GB a month is for times I'm lost, need an immediate access to files in the cloud or NFC payments.

Yea I have 2 lines postpaid on the More Everything with 1 GB of data shared.  I still have 350 MB of data before the end of the billing cycle today.
