Spam texts on new phone number

Many unwanted sms messages to sons phone, new activation and phone number.

We just got my middle school son his first phone, he is getting many unwanted texts every single day.

Always from numbers starting with (326) 651 the last two numbers always vary

(326) 651-42, (326) 651-39, (326) 651-33, etc.

Some the the texts seem like facebook content 'Amber Christy commented on your status' things like that.

Some are just random 'Mikey: aye'

He does not, nor has ever had a facebook account.

How do I make these texts stop?

Thanks for any suggestions

32665 is a Facebook notification - FBOOK - and is set in the Facebook account.  It may be notifications set in the account of the person who had the phone number before your son.  If so, your best bet is to change his phone number.

You can also send the message OFF to 32665 (from his phone) and see if that stops the notifications.

Huh, He has never had a facebook account, must be from someone who had the number before.

I'll try to STOP reply next time he gets one and see if that works, I'll post back if it does.

Looks like you actually have to text 'OFF', i tried 'STOP' and got no response.

Tried 'OFF' and got a reply that Facebook texts are now off.

Thank you for the help!

LOL, just be glad the previous subscriber of the number wasn't an escort, like mine was. Actually, I had a lot of fun with it until her grandpa called one day to wish her a happy birthday. I actually talked with him and he sounded so sad. Eventually, the calls and txt stopped. But since your son has only had the number a short time, I'd suggest getting a new number for him.

Glad to help!  And I'm glad you were able to get the notifications to stop without having to change the phone number.  Of course, other things may crop up from the previous owner of the number; sometimes getting a new number is the only way to resolve it.
