Samsung Alias won't assign Ringtones

So yesterday I got my new Samsung Alias (pretty cute phone), I decided to splurge a little a download some ringtones from the Verizon website. I can see them in my 'ringtone inventory' and they play but whenever I try to assign them to specific contacts they don't work. I've had people call me several times and it will only play the default ringtone not the one I assigned. Even though when I pull up their contact information it lists the ringotne I selected as their ringtone. Any advice ?

Do you have the full ten-digit numbers of your contacts stored in your Contacts list? If you don't, then change your Contacts to include the area codes, as well. That usually corrects the problem. Some older phones used to compensate for this by reading only the last seven numbers of a phone number to determine which ringtone to play, but many newer phones tend to require all ten digits.
