Our family has been Verizon customers since 1993.  This will be ending

as soon as I can.

We have always been told the truth by any Verizon employee til now.

I have spent the last few months calling and trying to find out about the "new" teired billing, I wanted

to make sure that when we came due to upgrade our phones, that we could still keep our same plan.

Every time I called in I was told that we could keep our old plan, since we had been members for a long time -

I was told we were Grandfathered.  We could purchase phones at the reduced rates if we waited until

the end of August.  The 25th, which was a Sunday we were told, we could come in and get two of our phones

updated to new ones at the reduced rate, without it affecting our plan.

I had also called numerous times, because my son was moving to Boston and I wanted to make sure that

when he waited til August 25th he could still get a reduced rate phone, at our grandfathered rate.  We were

always told yes.

I was told this when I called 1-800-922-0204 several times in the last two months.

My husband and I were also told this last week, when we visited our local Lincoln CA store.  The person

there told us that same EXACT thing, and even went over what our old plan versus the new plan would

cost us - both were the same, but again I told them that I wanted to make sure that we were grandfathered.

He said yes.  We waited to get my husbands phone because he wanted to wait to see the Iphone5. We left

the store without buying - that was last weekend.

WE WERE LIED TO BY VERIZON.

My son called and told me that they switched him to the new plan, and that he could not get the old plan

or would have to buy his phone at the full rate.

Every person at Verizon said we were not telling the truth, and that NOW with the new plan it wi mbe SO MUCH BETTER,

look your not even using all that we are allowing they said.  IT IS A BUNCH OF BUNK - they were not making enough money off us

so now they want more!  WAKE UP AMERICA!

I'm assuming you are referring to the unlimited data package. I understand how frustrating it is to be given misinformation (truly), but, despite this, the terms of the price plan changes were released on Verizon Wireless' website and all across the web. A basic look at the price plan change info would have revealed that after June something (22nd or 28th, I believe), the unlimited data would have to change to the new tiered pricing.

In the spirit of relating this to another scenario, as is done ad nauseum, I would liken it to being told by a police officer that driving around five miles over the speed limit would not catch the attention of officers running radar, only to get pulled over and a ticket for speeding. The law was already established, yet you were given information from an officer that led to false expectation.

In the example listed above, it isn't the law's fault that you were ticketed with speeding, but a mutual fault from the actions of both the officer and the person who sped. In like manner, the misinformation was not due to Verizon Wireless as an entity, but someone who was acting as a representative. "The law was already established..."

This is why I promote, UPDATE ONLINE. The system does not get a commission.

However, when your order was complete you received a receipt and along with it would have been paperwork showing they changed the plan. You should have challenged the change right then.

*SIGH*

Here's how it goes

TECHNICALLY...

Yes you can keep your MIFI seperate...TECHNICALLY.

For the most part this is up to the rep that is handling your account. Customer Service can easily separate these plans and only include the phones.

Heres how it goes:

Your phones would be set up on ALP (Account Level Pricing) (Plan separated from phones and no primarys or secondarys)

Such as...100 for 1400 talk and text with 9.99 for every line, or even the share everything for the phones only.

Your mifi would then be left on its own line of service LLP (Line Level Pricing)

You can have up to 5 devices on Line Level Pricing and 5 on Account Level Pricing unless on Share Everything where you can have 10.

However you took a risk doing this. The rep who changed it did not separate them or maybe you didn't communicate to the rep clearly enough that you wanted them separate. A veteran rep could have easily done this, I'm not sure if you clearly stated this to the rep but when the change finally got made the rep who did it consolidated them all.

You probably called before the policy was put in place.  Might i suggest doing your own research before taking the advice of strangers then trying to bury them for it?  It's really easy.

Call center reps do not get commission.  Store reps however do for sales and will do what it takes to get paid, accept it.
