Restocking Fee

I am a HUGE blockhead and accidentally ordered the wrong iPhone!! ((I wanted the 8, not the 8+)) And was wondering if there was any way to avoid a restocking fee, because $50 dollars is is a crazy amount for a fairly broke twenty year old who just paid all her bills! 😭 I’m not even planning on opening the box for the phone, just a switcheroo. Anyone get lucky with a switch??

Good afternoon to you! After reviewing the information you've provided in your post and as a valued customer, we certainly want to do everything we can to assist you in avoiding a $50 Restock Fee to your account. We've noted your reference to having ordered the iPhone 8+ instead of the iPhone 8 (In error). We also understand how vitally important it is to keep costs down. You're to be commended for paying all of your bills. I've got two twenty-something-year-olds who are learning how important this is since they've left "The nest." There is an option to help you avoid incurring the Restock Fee by utilizing Verizon's Sealed Box Waiver. New devices that have an intact seal sticker that shows no tampering or is in original shrink wrap and is returned within the 14-day Worry-Free return period can utilize the new-in-box return flow. This automatically returns devices into new in-store inventory while waiving the restocking fee. Please keep in mind that if the device is removed from its box and packaging, Verizon will not be able to re-sell the returned device as new to our customers. The key here is to not to open the box when you receive your new device. This will allow you to return it within Verizon's 14-Day Worry-Free Guarantee grace period to exchange it for the device you'd like to order and avoid incurring the $50 Restock Fee charge. If this option works best for you please ensure that you have the purchase receipt for your device when you visit any of our corporate store locations to exchange the device. You can locate the closest Verizon corporate store near you by visiting our website at http://spr.ly/6609117ic. You also have the option to cancel your pending order (If it hasn't been delivered yet) by contacting our Customer Service team at 800-922-0204 or you can refuse delivery of the package upon its delivery and it will be returned to our warehouse via FedEx, UPS, or US Mail. Once the equipment has been returned to our warehouse and you'd receive a notification confirming this and you'd receive a refund for the returned device. Which option works best for you? -RobertC_VZW
