Refusing to honor targeted Double Your Data promotion

I received an email from Verizon Wireless on March 17, 2016 advertising an "exclusive offer for our best customers" that would "double my data for life". The requirement is to go from my legacy 2-year contract plan to the new Verizon Plan (XL - 24GB after doubling, or XXL - 32 GB after doubling) - no other relevant Terms and Conditions. The email gave a number to call, but no website or online method to activate the offer.

I called the provided number yesterday 3/21 several times, but they were having network issues and couldn't pull up my account. I got through this morning (3/22/16) with the advertised number and over the course of 30 minutes, the Customer Service Representative and her supervisor could only pull up offers related to adding Verizon FIOS service and bundling their offerings. There was no mention of this in their original offer. They also kept offering to switch me to the Verizon Plan to see what kind of savings/extra data I could get. This was clearly a bait & switch.

How can I have Verizon honor the targeted offer without needing to get the FTC, FCC, and BBB involved?

promotion is valid for sure....but if you called and were told " adding Verizon FIOS service and bundling their offerings" that's mean now you have been advised and if you don't want to take it then you don't have to but if you want to have that then you have to add those services.

its email about promotion only it does not say either you are qualified for that promo.

again its like advertisement and sent to your email address but doesn't say you qualify for that ..

FTC, FCC, and BBB may say same thing its advertisement email .its available for your V wireless account if you wan to take it with all T&C accepted and again they are disclosed to you when you called that toll free number

They said they could not find that offer, but they have another offer - the FIOS one. They read the FIOS promotion email to me which clearly states the bundling mumbo jumbo. This is a separate offer.

The crossed-out parts indicate that the offer applies to my account number and email address. It's an "exclusive offer" which "applies to [my wireless account number]".

Pretty straight forward. No mention of "terms and conditions apply" which is standard language if terms and conditions apply...

Verizon always places their various conditions, disclaimers, or at very least a link to the Terms and Conditions in their emails. One example of many:

I do not have nor want Fios, nor does the offer mention that requirement. Front line phone staff and supervisor could only see the Fios offer, but that is a separate offer. "Double data for life when you bundle Fios blah blah blah..." is actually how that email was worded, with proper fine print indicating the Fios requirement and what-not. This is obviously different. That must be available for their "great" customers. I'm one of their "best customers"

Or will have been one of their best customers, if I continue to get the run-around.

I understand that but deal is when you called that number and you were advised you have to have both to get that deal regardless it say on email or not you do not qualify. Its marketing tact to sell you more service to offer you something on existing service

MrDioji, we would never falsely advertise an offer to you in order to change your plan. We absolutely do have the FiOS double your data for life offer, which is available in specific areas. If you are already a wireless customer, and you choose to add FiOS this offer would definitely apply.

However, this offer is not available to get by just changing your data plan. I apologize for the advertisement coming off as confusing. Have you looked into our other promotions? Have you recently added a new line of service?

The offer is not confusing at all. Double data for life when I step up to the XL or XXL Verizon Plan. Very straightforward.

The customer service agents are being confused by another existing offer which was offered regionally to some customers for getting FiOS. Go look at the email for that promotion. Why would some emails mention FiOS as a requirement, and mine does not? It is obviously a separate offer.

FiOS isn't even available at my residence, which Verizon is aware of.
