How does a random number get assigned to my account at a Verizon store? Why doesn't customer support believe me? Why can't I get a refund for the fraudulent charges?

Any new line activated to a VZW account (not a former phone number you had ported in from another carrier) would be assigned a random number, as their system does not support choosing specific new line phone numbers. Do you have the contract for that line? Or you viewed the contract for that line in your online account, or received a duplicate copy from the store? Who signed the contract for the line? If it was you or an authorized person on your account that's usually what causes them not to believe you that it is fraud, as CS can see the signature as well in their system.
