i bought a new lucid lg for my daughter ..added a new line to my account..2 yr agreement and long story short..1 month later the phone is broken and shes not getting another one..so i want to give that line to my gf..can i buy another phone and active it on that line without the old phone..and what kinds of phones can i use..BECAUSE THE PRICES ON VERIZON FOR A REPLACEMENT PHONE ARE UNREAL!!! SEROUSLY!! WHATS UP THAT..people lose phones and break phones (and didnt buy insurance because cell phones prices and plans are are ready so high).and they want 5 times more for it without a new contrACT!! HELP !

The prices are set by the manufacturer. Try and compare prices outside of Verizon and you will see the same. Subsidization on a 2 year contract is always lower because you are locked in to ensure they get back what they paid to the manufacturer for you to get that device at the price you paid for.
Your best bet is ebay, craiglist, or your local type selling forums. Here is Hawaii we have FHclassifieds for example.

No it can be different. Just as long as they are Verizon branded phones you are in the clear.
