Poor Wireless Service Indoors (At&T, T-mobile & Sprint all work- but not Verizon)

I recently switched from AT&T to Verizon and the office building I work in has limited cell reception on the Verizon network.  I never had any issues with AT&T over the previous 7 years I have worked in this same office building.  I discussed this issue with many of my co-workers & found only the individuals on Verizon network could not get cell reception inside the building.  All other major carrier providers, such as At&T, T-mobile, and Sprint work excellent for my co-workers.  I work in an area that Verizon boasts as "covered" (Fort Worth, TX).  I only switched services to take advantage of a "switch now" offer Verizon was marketing.  I am highly regretful of my decision.  I hope that Verizon is working on correcting this issue as I have found many other Verizon customers suffer from poor indoor service coverage in areas that should be covered according to the community blogs.  The only solution Verizon appears to be offering is for people to spend even more money to buy extenders which seems ridiculous to me as we are already paying for a service.  Very bad business.

DEBJEN77, having service is certainly always what we want for our customers. While we can never guarantee signal indoors, we would like the opportunity to take a closer look at this. You mentioned that this seems to happen at work, how far do you need to be from this location before you see improvement? Which services are affected?

Hello,

It happens inside my office building.  When I step outside or next to a window, I start to get service. Sometimes I get a text inside the building, but it’s rare and my calls typically drop unless I am standing outside. I do not get data... unable to check my emails, Facebook, bank account app, etc. I have worked in the same building for 7 years and did have this issue when I had a different wireless provider.  I rely on my cell phone to keep up with my personal stuff while I am at work. I am also in the process of starting a side business and need to be responsive to texts, phone calls and emails all day. Going outside every hour and not being able to answer a call directly is very difficult.

Very bad business? No one at Verizon forced you to switch, this was done on your own. Texas is AT&T territory.

I live on the West coast and it's complete opposite here where Sprint and T-Mobile have atrocious coverage. If it's been less than 14 days since you switched, you can leave Verizon and go back to your previous carrier.

Thank you for the additional information, DEBJEN77. There are many factors outside of our control that can affect indoor signal. This can be caused from the foundation of the building, foliage, and line of sight with the tower. If your service works everywhere else, then this is considered an issue with indoor service. We do recommend using WiFi if available for calls and data. You can also have your employer look into a network extender for the building, http://spr.ly/6588D9FxY;
