Plan changes

Does anyone else have a problem with being forced to change your plan every time you try to upgrade your phone? I had to change my plan last year ( and give up my unlimited data) to upgrade my phones. Now, less than 12 months later they tell me I have to purchase a plan that offers me less service for more money if I want to upgrade my phone because I have an OLD plan! Less than 12 months is old? Really?????? I feel like I was scammed last year just to get me out of my unlimited data plan. I got the run around when I called. One agent said I needed to change, transferred me to another agent that said I didn't have to change, then transferred again and was told I had to change. Finally transferred to a "supervisor" who was less than pleasant and was told she didn't want to give me "unreasonable expectations". I don't think good customer service is an unreasonable expectation. I'm very frustrated and thinking of changing my plan to a different carrier!

you do not have to change your plan.  you can stay on a nationwide plan.   however if you have unlimted data you will loose it if you choose to get a phone at a reduced price.   When you get a phone at a reduced price you sign a new contract and you must select a current data option.  Verizon can not sign a contract with you and offer somethign they no longer offer.   However you certainly can keep your nationwide plan,  there are a few plans that are not offered anymore any any change would require a plan change,  just depends on what plan you have

I already gave up my unlimited data last year when they made me switch to my current plan that they are now telling me I have to change again. I was told last December that I had to update my plan and now they are telling I have to update it again. Am I going to be required to update my plan every time I get a new phone?

Do you know the name of your plan?  You should have to change plans every time you get a phone

I do not know the name of my plan and obviously neither does Verizon. After spending most of the morning with customer service, this is what I do know. I was told last December I had an old Alltell plan that I could no longer use. There was "ABSOLUTELY" no way I could keep my plan because their system will not recognize an Alltell plan. So, last December they switched me to the plan I currently have. It ended up costing me more money and I received less service. I have been on this plan for almost a year now. But now Verizon tells me I have to change my plan to one that will again cost more and give me less because....... I have an old Alltell plan!!! Wait, what, didn't you tell me there was no way to keep an Alltell plan, that your system doesn't recognize it, that my phones would not work with it???? So my question now is, where they lying to me last year, this year or both. I'm going with both!
