Are your services that you ported in Verizon (landline) or Verizon Wireless? If Verizon, then you have posted in the wrong forum. If wireless, and your number and name don't show up on landlines, Verizon Wireless has no control over how that number ends up being displayed on the landline carrier's network. Provided your line is provisioned by VZW with the features I mentioned and no block, it's up to the landline company how they handle it on your home/business phone. If technical support says it's provisioned correctly, you can ask them to escalate the matter by opening a trouble ticket (TT) with their network. TTs can take 5 to 7 business days for a resolution. Network can reach out to the landline company's network people to make sure VZW is handing off the correct information.

The numbers that were ported are MOBILE numbers. I'm not an idiot.

As far as I'm aware, Sprint does not have landlines any longer.

As for the comment you made about going to the landline company, are you friggin serious? Hmmm... I'll have to go to EVERY  landline company in the nation - when it was working just fine before we ported our numbers over? {please keep your posts courteous}

Sorry. I didn't mean to insult you. When you said landline, I wanted to be clear about what type of numbers were ported in.

No one expects you to call every landline company. What I meant to say is that VZW tech support can open a TT. VZW has a dedicated network team that's off the phones that will contact landline companies. VZW talks to them and vice versa. When opening a TT like that, they would need to know one landline number where this problem has occurred. If you don't know the service provider of the landline number, they can figure that out for you.

Whoah man, let's try to curb the anger a bit. This guy is trying to help you (and is apparently giving you more info than anyone else so far) and all you want to do is give attitude. One would think you'd be grateful for some assistance. Keep up the good work, Cstrait001!

Sorry, cstrait001

Seemed like you were being rather condescending in your comments. Sorry for my reaction.

Thanks for trying to help.

The issue here, and it has come up a number of times, is Verizon cell phones calling ANY landline with caller ID equipment.  The ID that shows up is simply the number, and/or possibly a location, no name.  When other cell phones call (AT&T for instance), the landline equipment displays the callers name, as caller ID does with landline numbers that call in.

Resolution?  Seems to be in Verizon's hands, and the way the number/ID is entered and displayed from the database where all this information is stored.

Agreed.

It's OBVIOUSLY in Verizon's hands, yet they seem to want to do NOTHING about it.

Hey it worked fine before we decided to give them money. Once we switched, it no longer worked.

2+2= Verizon's responsibility to fix.

When I ported my number over from ATT, and my fiance' ported her number over from Sprint, we lost our names on the outgoing caller ID.

Verizon needs to fix that.

there is nothing to "fix". Verizon chose not to display the callers name, only the number and state they are calling from.

yes, other companies display the name. they dont.

if you went to mcdonalds and wanted something that wasnt on the menu, would you expect them to make it for you?

Well, if that had been made clear to me in the beginning, maybe I wouldn't be complaining about it, but it wasn't. I never even thought it'd be an issue. Silly me.
Since I'm simply asking for something I had to begin with, I don't think it's too much to ask for. I'm not the only one in this community board asking for it either.

hey i just came from att where they do the same thing, and I wish i had it too. but it is what it is... verizon doesnt offer it.
and saying you want what you had to begin with isnt fair, because you had it with a DIFFERENT CARRIER.
