Now that AT&T

AT&T is now offering a plan that will allow a customer to have four lines with unlimited talk/text and 10GB of shared data for $160/month.  When will Verizon respond with something similar?

Lots of threads on this.

Verizon doesn't price match so don't wait up for it.

The $160 does not include the monthly costs of the phones.

Why are you starting the EXACT same thread again? Verizon does have a very similar plan and yes it is slightly more expensive $5 per line. More Everything with Edge plan. You can get 4 lines with 10 GB data for $180 a month

One major difference that is confirmed by what sirguy was saying on my thread, as i had a similar question:

1) if you are currently on a contract with VZW, VZW will require you to buy a new phone.

2) if you are currently on a contract with ATT, ATT will allow you to use your current phone (you may be on contract now and do not have to buy a new phone).

Therefore,

you if you are on ATT, you benefit WAY more than VZW.

1) if you're currently under contract you can't even join Edge. You have to be out of contract

2) You're not currently under contract with at&t so that doesn't matter to you or any current Verizon customer.

Point #2 seems to not be getting through to many people. Go to the at&t website NEW customers MUST pay full price or be on Next. They can not bring their Verizon iPhones over an use them and be on the "value" plan.

1)IT IS A NEW PROMO FOR SOME WHO ARE STILL UNDER A CONTRACT TO JOIN EDGE. REPEATED THIS NUMEROUS TIMES.....

2) I OBVIOUSLY KNOW THAT I AM NOT CURRENTLY UNDER ATT. I AM SAYING VERIZONS DEAL IS WORSE THAN ATT IN TERMS OF THIS 'COMPETITIVE PRICING'.

NUMEROUS PEOPLE ON ATT INCLUDING MY COWORKERS ARE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR PHONES AND NOT PAY FOR A NEW ONE FOR ATT NEXT.

VERIZON iPHONES ARE UNLOCKED FOR GSM.

1) I know about that Edge promo and it's a promo which means it's temporary. I'm talking about the REGULAR plan terms. If I'm comparing the price of a Big King and Big Mac and the Big Mac is being sold for 99 cents for month, I'm not going to use that 99 cent price as the standard price for comparison because after the promo is over it's pointless.

2) Since point #2 applies only to at&t customers it's moot point. Not sure why that hard for you to get.

Good for Verizon phones. You still won't be able to get on that Value share plan with them. You can use them for their standard share pricing which is the same as Verizon. Also I don't believe they work with at&t's LTE. So enjoy the slow data.

Trust me go to the website and go through the motions there is no option to sign up as a new customer and get on the new value share plan and use your own phone. But you know what go ahead and leave and find out the hard way. I want you to so you can post back and let me know I'm right.

My advice? Go with AT&T. Contrary to what you may have heard about them 3-4 years ago, their service is actually pretty good with the switch to 4G. They used to be garbage in the area I'm in but after some renovations a few years back they're top-notch in terms of coverage availability and their LTE, while slower than Verizon's, is definitely faster than Sprint's internet.

Verizon has garbage customer service, and their forums (removed) are even worse, so you're probably preaching to the wrong choir, my friend.
