Hi Droid Usr:

The part about $300 is what I was referring to. The OP should have gotten their phone back. Or keep the phone as a vis-a-vie even swap.

Not really, the $300 would be the charge to replace the non-working phone with a working phone, especially since Verizon determined it was not a "Manufacturer Defect", but a customer problem.

As has already been hashed out the original poster wanted their wifi problem phone back. there is no right for verizon to keep the original phone after the customer states they are sending the charged for phone back. Verizon cannot keep both phones. The original phone is paid for. if verizon cannot give the phone back then the OP should not pay since Verizon is keeping the other phone. And a wifi issue in my opinion will not void a warranty  replacement. it was just pure greed to want to charge $300 for that replacement .

If you read my post, I am not disagreeing with you. I just see the point that they want her to pay $300 for the replacement phone since they deemed the original phone a "Customer problem", not a warranty. If the OP sends the replacement phone back, I agree that Verizon should send back their original non wifi working phone.

Warranty is serviced by VZW; Insurance is by Asurion.

Any devices that are received by the VZW warehouse are non-returnable. If the phone is repairable, they will repair it; if it is not then they will get rid of it.

If the issue with the phone is not deemed a manufacturers defect, a charge between $200-700 is assessed because with any CLNR they spend between $300-500 for those devices to be fully functional.

It is not the greatest situation to be in but that's how VZW works. You could always send the phone back, have the fee reversed, and buy a phone certified pre-owned or from a 3rd party if no upgrade is available at a possible lower cost.

Or keep the phone and pay $300 for a $550 phone.
