No service

Inspite of Verizon's service availability map showing cell service in my area of New Hampshire, we do NOT have service at all and have to use Wifi. This makes even emergency calls impossible if we loose power. We always have to drive to a hot spot 3 miles away. For the amount of money our phones cost as well as the service we pay for but do not have, this is pretty much unacceptable. Our Town Manager even contacted Verizon last year who insisted all of the Haverhill New Hampshire districts had service. There was a survey the Town asked residents to fill out and this was submitted to Verizon. Guess it didn't get us anywhere. We live 20 miles  west of Lincoln NH, 20 miles southwest from Littleton NH, about 35 miles north of Plymouth NH - all "cities"...there are around 6 districts in Haverhill NH...service is "spotty" at best...There is a tower in the Woodsville district but no cell service in Woodsville...go figure. If there were an option, we would certainly switch.

NHMUSHER, we certainly want you to have the best possible service! There are always changes that impact our Network, some are controllable, and others may not be. This can include cell-site changes, foliage, construction, population changes, and interference. We will be more than happy to look into your service concerns further. To begin, what ZIP code are you located in? Has this service concern always been this way?

Hi! Our mailing zip code is 03785 (that is the Woodsville, NH mailing zip code). We LIVE in the Mountain Lakes District of Haverhill NH. Haverhill NH encompasses the districts of Woodsville (03785), Mountain Lakes (03785 AND 03765), North Haverhill (03765) and Haverhill Corner (03765).

Demographically (if that is the correct word!)) our house is located on French Pond Road (again with the mailing address of Woodsville) on the NH Route 112 side, approximately 1/4 +/- mile from NH Route 112.

It would be, quite literally, life-saving if there were cell service for us. Any distance of a ride to a hot spot could cost someone a life in our area.

This has always been an issue around here.

loss of power/wi-fi isn't a verizon issue.

you choose to live in a remote area, which isn't going to have as many cell towers as big metropolitan areas but expect the same service as the big cities..

NHMUSHER, we appreciate these specifics. In taking a close look at this area we did find that given the terrain there are indeed very limited towers available. You mentioned having Wi-Fi available at home, while we do offer a network extender, this device would connect with that always on high speed internet connection. As such, if there was that loss of power this device would also experience this issue. Details on the extender are available at http://spr.ly/6601ELGRV. We are also always exploring options for adding to the network in these areas. Should you know of someone with land available for a cell tower, please have them review this link and submit their information at http://spr.ly/6603ELGRX;
