Is it true VerizonW is coming out with a 24g data plan Limited? to offset their rush to Unlimited that they can't support. My map from Verizon website says 4g and it ain't there. Somebody needs to get a grip.

Prior to the Unlimited plan's introduction, Verizon had the XXL plan, which offered 24GB. I believe you can still get the plan by calling in, but not through the Verizon app or site, most likely due to it not being as financially beneficial an option as the Unlimited plan. The XXL and Unlimited plans have pretty much the same price, but Unlimited offered 22GB of 4G per line, prioritized as needed after, while the XXL only offered 24GB 4G shared between all of the lines, with Safety Mode or overage charges after.

I had the XXL plan which is for 24GB 4G data shared between whatever devices you have. I foolishly changed to the unlimited plan without knowing that my wifi would only get 10GB of 4G per month now. They said a 'slowdown' to 3G. Well I hit that 10GB limit and the slow down was to 0.1 mbs. So much for 3G! I can't use it. Couldn't even use it to chat with tech support - had to phone them.

After I finally got a person I was able to switch back to my old XXL plan, but not until the end of the billing period, so I have 18 days of no service (except on the phone). The only reason I can write this is because I still have my CenturyLink DSL service which gives me about 1mbs. I was hoping I could discontinue it and just go with Verizon, but that's not going to happen now.

Out in rural areas we don't get many choices. I can't stream with the DSL, but I can upload weather data, download audiobooks, do computer updates and run my home cam occasionally. That leaves Verizon for anything that needs speed. Too much to hope that they would have included the mifi with the phones. I'm not sure how you would use 22GB on a phone anyway. No doubt that's why it's for the phones and not the mifi.

You can easily use 22 GB on a phone by watching videos/music/streaming/etc... The phone's hotspot ONLY is limited to 10 GB of usage before being throttled to 3G speeds. You can perform ALL of the above activities listed above WITHOUT using the phone's mobile hotspot. Many people have reported using much more than 22 GB of data on the new unlimited plan without experiencing any data speed slowdown because they are not on a congested tower when using data.

You can get another 10GB using your phone as a hotspot to get you through the end of the billing period.

Can you advise that I have (1) MiFi and (1) router. Does the 10G apply to each or is a total of 10G for both combined in the Unlimited Plan? Tks

Not sure what you mean by this. Do you have a (1) MiFi and (2)LTE Internet and Home Phone or 4G LTE Internet Installed(aka Home Fusion)?

If so, then it is 10 GB for EACH device, not a total of 10 GB.

A MiFi and a "router" are technically the same thing. The MiFi "routes" data to other devices.

Sorry but no. I tried that. Using your phone as a hotspot counts towards the 10GB data that the mifi gets.

The unlimited plan is a scam this whole is misleading and I find it to be false advertising

Very true. If my plan was throttled down to 3G it might still work, but with a speed of 0.12 mbs, it just doesn't function. I thought it would be OK because I used to use the 3G service and that was better than I got from DSL here (1 mbs).

Obviously they are not reducing connection speed but virtually eliminating it.
