Issues with promotions.

I find frustrating that as an existing customer you are limited to the worst promotions. I have had Verizon service for several years. Been loyal with 4 lines active, had 5 for awhile (2-3 years) while helping someone get back onto their feet. But today I want to upgrade a line (all my devices I have paid for already 1 is 3 years old, 1 is 2 years old and the others are a year or less) and do the Bogo on the note 20 ultra 5g. I cant do this promotion because I dont need to add a 5th line. So the best they can do is $50 off the device and 1st month waved, so basically $95 off. You would think they would find away to help the loyal customers. I pay $200 a month for service, and this is just for their service no device payments. But now my option to get the best deal for a new phone is to swap carriers that offer the same BOGO because there I will be adding a new line (4 to be exact) just to get a deal that I can't from Verizon.  I don't know maybe I'm just being petty, but I would think you would rather keep a loyal customer, and $200 a month then have me go to the other guys and give them my money.

Verizon doesn't make anything on phones sold at retail. New line promos are for people that need a new line of service, not people who think they deserve free phones because reasons.

Here's some perspective. I've been a Verizon customer much longer than you have and don't feel entitled to anything beyond working service. I pay for network coverage and get what I paid for. The day Verizon can't do that is the day I switch. Sprint/T-mobile here gets emergency calls only with Verizon hitting 3 bars in the same location. A lot good a "free" phone does me if I can't use it.

Bought a Pixel 4a recently for my girlfriend and a Samsung S20 for myself few months back. Both were purchased outside of Verizon unlocked.

Very presumptuous of you to feel lile you have been a customer longer then I have. Also there are other providers that use Verizon's towers that are cheaper then Verizon's service. Also there are several areas that verizon is spotty in that AT&T are not. Sorry I got you feeling superior somehow off of a rant I had. You know I'm aware that they dont make alot of money of retail on phones. But you know where they do make their money? Off of their service, so as stated it would seem to that you would offer better deals for phones for existing customers then what they do. $50 off isnt that great of a deal to somone who has already paid several thousands of dollars to a company.

Sambowrambo, your loyalty means the world to us. We certainly don't want you to feel unappreciated. Our competitors offer similar BOGO offers when adding a new line of service to expand their customer base.

We want our loyal customers to get the best promotions when they upgrade. You mentioned that you are interested in getting the Note20 Ultra 5G. Currently, you can save $500 off a Note20 Ultra 5G when you upgrade with select trade-in and select Unlimited plans.

Please use this link to view the promotion details.

Once you open the link, click on "See the details" and then click on "Get up to $700 w/trade. Scroll down to the "Get 50% off Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G or save $500 on Samsung Note20 Ultra 5G when you upgrade with select trade-in and select Unlimited" section of the offer. Does this information help?

I cannot even order as it keeps popping up a message to try again some other time and it has been doing this for 72 hours. I want the Note 20 Ultra and a S20 Ultra, but cannot order through Verizon's website. I can do it through Samsung's site, but I lose $100 on my trade-in

You make excellent points.  I've often wondered the same.  Companies will oftentimes incentivize people to joint up with their Company (ATT, T-Mobile,  Verizon, Sprint, etc...) but won't incentivize customers who have been "longtime loyal customers".  I think sometimes it's just good to switch Companies to get some promo that makes phone costs more manageable, especially since prices have gone through the roof.

Btw, I'm sure you probably already know if you buy a Samsung phone about 4-5 months after it comes out, you'll save about $400 or so on that phone, i.e, Galaxy S20+ that was originally $1,200 becomes $750-800.  And if you wait until Black Friday Sales, the savings could be even more! - - Btw, I've only been with Verizon for about 20 years, yet feel exactly like you do.
