Issues after upgrade

My wife and I upgraded to an unlimited plan as I am traveling a lot for work now. After we changed plans, our signal strength has plummeted on both of our devices regardless of our location. I've called customer service or have chatted with agents around 10 times and they give me the run around and fail in their attempts to assist me.

I was sent to a couple tech coaches who made me check our device settings on every device on my account. Another's  solution was saying my plan doesn't prioritize my data I have to pay more which is ridiculous as my limited data plans were faster even when I ran out of LTE. Another's explanation was that a cell tower on the other side of Texas was down, which was better than the well your towers in the area must be congested, it should speed up at 1:00am.

Finally, I capitulated and against my better judgment upgraded from Start Unlimited to Do More Unlimited to have 50g of unthrottled data but my signal and bandwidth is still trash. Nothing changed. I drove around the city running errands and checked my phone the entire time and the bandwidth is no more than 5mbps at best, and all my calls sound like I'm talking to the big 2 legged robot from the Robocop movies.

My family has had verizon for like 20 years, and I created my own account when I got married like 6 years ago and NEVER had one issue before upgrading my plan. I'm not an unreasonable guy. I'm not a wiseguy. However, I am someone who expects they should have cellular internet faster than the dial up they grew up with for $2200+ a year in line fees in the year 2020.

It's just our account, my neighbor's with Verizon are living the life enjoying themselves on satisfactory bandwidth and signal strength...

If I can't get this resolved, I'm taking my entire family and company account elsewhere. I want to stay Verizon.

Verizon? Anyone? Help us please!!!

Zip: 75002

Verizon is notorious to put a Cap on Unlimited Plan regardless of what Unlimited Plan !!! Most Peoples are experience the same thing. Verizon can't even provide real 4G LTE but crying for Fake 5G Plans. I do have three different Phones with Get more and Do more Unlimited Plans but Signal Strength, Network Speed and bandwidth are significantly decrease after switching to Unlimited Plan. Verizon charged way more than Others but provide less Services.

I called today and the worthless young kid on the phone acknowledged it wasn't a device issue, however told me to go to local store a just get a free phone. I had to explain to him, a new phone is useless to me if I can't use it. I was becoming frustrated so he just transferred me to the call where it issues you a text link for the asurion tech coach. I called 4 more times after that and spoke to a manager and I got to tier 2 Verizon network support and they created me both a NBR and TR ticket and assured me they would resolve.

Between all our verizon accounts we spend an upward of $8,000 a year, so this subpar service unacceptable.

I have a Samsung Note 8 and the wife has a Samsung Note 9. Both device's cellular signal tanked after we upgraded our personal account's plan to unlimited.

On our previous data plan the call quality and mobile data bandwidth was great, however nearly ever call since has been completely terrible and the data is even worse.

If I was in a terrible accident and called 911 for assistance, I would die as they would think it was a prank call from an autotuned robot.

Sorry to hear about your lousy service with Verizon.  I've been on the receiving end of that terrible service recently, after having been with Verizon for about 20 years.  I've been checking out other options for sure...

Probably not what you want to hear, but have you tried factory resets on your phones??? I assume you must have by now.   Since you're using Get More or Do More, you get free Verizon Cloud backup so that makes things a little more manageable.  But it's still a pain!!!

If you don't have the cloud on both phones, you might want to use the Samsung Switch going from one phone to the other for the phone that's not on the Verizon Cloud...

When I switched to an unlimited plan, my speed didn't go down...I'm on the Get More with an S20+;  I used to have an S8+... a great phone!!!    But, I definitely do NOT get 5G although one sees commercials for Verizon 5G service all the time....

Good luck on getting the right data speeds for your phones!

Oh, no. This is not at all the way we want you to feel about our service. Making sure you're able to stay connected is a must. We would love to help find a lasting solution right away. Please tell us, what is your zip code? What data speeds are you picking up on your devices? Does this happen only in certain areas or various locations?

I live in zip code 75002. After changing our data plan to unlimited, the signal strength within a 1/4 mile of our home has decreased significantly. Before upgrading, our data speeds ranged from 15-100mbps, now we are lucky to get 3mbps.

I drove around my city yesterday and on occasion I would get 3 bars of signal on my device and 10/1 mbps (UP/DOWN). Testing bandwidth and confirming slightly better signal strength, I moved the car 20ft and I went to 1 or no bars, and couldn't even run a speed test. Happens over and over again except when am near home then my every device on my account is a useless brick without wifi.

We know how important it is to stay connected. Do you have HD Voice enabled on your device? Is it just the call quality that is being affected?

Do you guys even read the replies/posts??? The op says his data is terrible too!!! Now at 10/1 down/up and used to have up to 100 download speed.

Vierra Family... is your phone network set to "Global"... I believe that's the best setting... I would guess that's what you're using...
