I currently have 3GB shared between three lines. We need to increase but the next step up looks like it's 8GB - we don't need that much.
Is there a way to just get 5GB?
If you have the Verizon Plan, the data steps are:
2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 24 GB, 30 GB
There is no in between steps.

Unless you go over and your overages would be more than it would cost to change, you are probably better off just paying the extra fee for going over. Currently, from the 4GB to the 8GB is a difference of $20. You'd be better off paying the $15 for overage. Unless you were going to go over by 2GB and then it would make better sense to change.
All of those are great recommendations. One other thing to keep in mind is if you are on our brand New Verizon Plans then you have carry over data. Which means that if you do not use the extra data then it will carry over to the next month for you to use. Also, the $15 overage fee is per gig charge so if you go over by 2 gigs then the charge is $30 which is more than making the plan change.
