Is it time for a change?

In another move to "reward" loyal customers and "encourage" them to change their unlimited data plan Verizon is going to be making available payment options to purchase your phone instead of a free upgrade and also adding on a $20 per line charge. My question is to Verizon. What incentive do I have to stay Verizon when the other phone companies are offering better options to change over? What are you doing for the customer?  I see if you are a new customer you have the world handed to you on a silver platter but if you are an existing customer you are tossed into the mud and stomped on. My question is still what are you doing for your loyal customers? I am due for an "upgrade" and I am seriously considering moving to another  carrier as Verizon is not loyal to its customers. Is my $200 a month worth it to Verizon to figure out a way to keep me or am I going to be one of the many that just go ahead and move on to another company?  Sounds to me like the thing to do going forward is just switch carriers every two years so that you're always a new customer. Get a Google Voice number and give that out instead of the number the carrier assigns you.

Verizon likes to nickel and dime for everything.  Take away incentives for being loyal customers.  Then they will say they are giving you something better while taking something away and then charging more and say they did you a justice.

Yea... I've been with VZW way too long myself.  But when I change over in a few days (new Windows 950XL phone,) I'm going to port over our numbers to the new carrier.  You don't need Google Voice whenever you swap carriers unless you want to.

I have said it before and I will say it again....Verizon does NOT have to let you keep your unlimited plan. They no longer offer it and since it now a premium service it deserves a premium price. They are able to charge what they want. Other unlimited carriers throttle you and if they have a plan that it truly unlimited you will surely pay more and get subpar connectivity. I do understand that there are some people for whom the new plans are more expensive because of their usage. I don't know if you're one of them as you have not told us what your average usage is. However, you cannot complain that you don't get to take advantage of all promotions while you are on an outdated plan. You have to consider the benefit of keeping your unlimited versus the benefit of any available promotions. You're not being thrown in the mud. You are choosing to keep an old plan that Verizon no longer offers and your stubbornness is what is holding you back from getting any available deals.

After I missed a call from my work and I had to take 5 days of unpaid leave I decided to get another cell service. I went with Google's Project Fi and love it. I still have verizon in case the new phone has troubles I will still have a back up phone.

Verizon refused to offer me anything I can show my job that I had no service at the time of the calls. I have proof on my phone's status report that everything was on and no service but they refuse to help. I recommend looking around for alternatives.

Are you blaming Verizon Wireless for you unpaid leave of absence? You don't have a landline on which your job can reach  you if you are experiencing an outage on your mobile?

Oh yeah, missing work can be blamed on not having cell service. 😐
