I just noticed that all the other major carriers are offering calling Canada and Mexico at no additional charge on their general unlimited calling plans. Some even offer calling from Canada and Mexico at no additional charge.
Is Verizon close in competing with carriers in this aspect? I'm considering to switch if there is no near plan in doing so.

Nothing that has been hinted or announced.
Verizon does have unlimited texting with More Everything and My Verizon to the rest of the world, but not for voice calls.
