I want to cancel the line access for a tablet. How do I go about this.

You must call customer service or go into a Verizon store. You cannot do it online.

if it's on device payments or still on a 2 year contract then no.
We also were told, IN store we couldn't cancel two tablet lines. They said to call customer service. I've tried multiple times, multiple ways to drop the lines (phone, chatting online, and in-store). Very frustrating.
To cancel service or remove a line permanently: Call Customer Service at (800) 392-0717 (Mon – Fri, 7 AM - 9 PM, Sat – Sun, 8 AM – 9 PM local time).
