Yes, you can do this. It works best if you follow this advice:

When you add the higher data amount, add it retrospective to the first day of your billing period. You will be given this choice when upgrade the data.

Then on the very first day of the new billing period, as early as possible, and before you really use data that day, change it back to the lower level. Depending on when Verizon runs the bill, you may get a charge for the higher data for the next month, but this will be fully credited next bill.

Doing it this way is a bit more work, but you get more data for your money than paying overages.

Actually, after you make the initial change to a larger data allowance you can then change it back to the original a few days later except make the change effective on the first day of your next billing cycle. That way you won't forget to change back to your normal data allowance.

The only downside to that is that with a pending account change, you won't be able to make any other account changes.  I usually wait until a couple of days before the end of my billing cycle to put in the change back to a lower allotment, just in case other account changes are needed.  Otherwise, a call to Customer Service can override the pending change.

Yes.

1) Add data during your current bill cycle and BACKDATE it to avoid proration and to have the entire data allowance available immediately.

2) Place a 2nd order to set your data allowance back to the lower amount FUTUREDATED to the beginning of your next bill cycle.
