How do I get better reception?
creativecatalyst

I am currently having issues getting any reception at my workplace on Hillview Ave near research park. In the bldg, I have resorted to the wifi for data connection, but my calls are difficult to receive or send. It's pretty frustrating since I rely on my cell phone when I'm not at my desk. Many of my coworkers who don't have this issue mention they are on ATT or Tmobile. I'm considering switching and will likely get a T-Mobile phone to try out. However, I wondered if anyone has found a work around to getting service where its limited or has found other ways to get calls in bldgs?

Btw, I've test my data connection as much as possible, and seen my data connection speed throttled. Another reason to switch. I'm going on vacation in 1 week and likely to switch by then.

Let me know asap!

Thanks for that information creativecatalyst. We do want to provide all options for you to help with your service. Glad to hear service is good outside. Indoor coverage can vary due to the many variables that can interfere with building penetration. An option many customers take advantage of to help with indoor coverage is a network extender as we can't guarantee indoor coverage http://vz.to/IHRT6h Please look into this option as this can greatly help with your service. Thanks for you time Robert.

I definitely don't want to lose you creativecatalyst! I know it's important to have an operable device. Let's look further into this. Are you only having issues indoors? If you are experiencing this outdoors please provide the zip code and share if service improves outside the area. Please share. Thank you.

thanks for the reply!

My colleagues have ATT and boast about their ability to get, receive, and stream from their smartphones within the bldg. I don't have much of an issue outside making calls, but data connection drops to 3G per my indicator. I'm strongly considering switching to ATT to avoid missing my calls. I would appreciate you attention to this greatly. Here is my zip and addy:  Palo Alto, CA

Hope to hear some result asap!

I am having the same issues after only being a customer for about 6 months.  I am paying for talk, text and data but can only use data if there is a Wi-Fi source I can connect to.  I have attempted to correct twice with online chat help, which was no help.  Just made the problem worst.  I was told I needed to pay more for better service!  Really?!? I was told that there is too much congestion in my area...I live in a rural area in Virginia, the largest cities are at least 1/2 hour away.  Then I was told the MEMI number wasn't in the system correctly, now I have nothing.  I can not make calls, only receive.  Without WI-FI, I can not send or receive text.  This is the absolute worst service.  I have friends with Straight Talk with much better service. I need help or out of my contract that Verizon apparently can not support.

I rely on my signal too. I totally get being able to use your phone. I can take a look to see what is going on. I do want to clarify a few things. Is anyone else having this issue? Has it always been this way? Does this happen indoors and outdoors? AmberF_VZW
