Four major problems with verizon

Four major problems with Verizon, I am very disappointed with Verizon, First, I have had problems with my phone not receiving calls, people will text me that they are calling me but my phone does not show anyone calling and it's sporadic when this happens, Secondly, I am not happy that the discount for state employees was taken away when you get the unlimited service which helped make Verizon more competitive price wise against t mobile and other carriers. Third, I had my, my Verizon account hacked an had someone in another state order a tablet and thank goodness I had a separate issue and was at the store when the store just happened to mention that my device order was being shipped.  Lastly, I ordered a unlocked note 8 from samsung since now verizon has decided to price gouge it's customers on samsung galaxy and note new phones by a few hundred dollars, and even though I asked it an unlocked phone would work on verizon with all the apps both verizon and samsung lied and said yes it would work, however, no one mention that the voicemail app would not work and I would have to call my voice mailbox everyday to check for messages as there was no visual way to see if I had any messages and the app could not be downloaded as it has to be preinstalled on verizon phones.  I am so disappointed!I  I was a customer since before Verizon was Verizon they were GTE and left to go to mobile but came back because the coverage and employee discount made Verizon affordable compared to t mobile, however, I am not a happy customer and I want to remain loyal but not with these issues I have had.  It is a shame that you have a customer that wants to remain loyal but is treated so badly.  Your, my Verizon is not safe as mine was used by someone else, you are charging several hundred dollars for new Samsung phones over what Samsung it's self charges and then you say you will accepted unlocked phones but not included vital apps and service such as email and then take away state employee discounts  Shame on Verizon.

rcrites1, certainly, we value how long you've been with us. Our goal is to ensure you have the best experience possible, and assist when you run into trouble. I'm pleased to hear that our store location was able to help identify the fraud activity and stop it. The changes that occurred with the employee discounts and our unlimited plans came from that we offered the plans at a discounted rate already. You can further save on our plans by using autopay with a checking account or debit card, along with a military discount. So, if anyone on your plan is active or former military, as long as they are an Account Manager their discount can further reduce your cost. We also negotiate the details of employer discounts with the companies we work with, so I recommend if your company shares that they're negotiated their discount with VZW, that you'd like the new discount to also work with unlimited. Your discount does work with our New Verizon plans.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your unlocked Samsung device. We can help troubleshoot that and see if we can get voicemail up and running. Have you contacted us previously about the voicemail issue? What happens when you try to use the visual voicemail app?

Thank you for the timely response. I am a teacher so my company is a

school which does not offer cell phone discounts. As for the voicemail

problem with my unlocked note 8, I can not get the app on my phone. It does

not appear even with a new sim card an.can not be downloaded from app store

as it does not appear. The guy at verizon spring store tried for an hour,

in every way he could think of an could not get the app on my phone

Go online to your Verizon account and turn off the 2 voicemail options. One is visual voicemail, that will fix your issue. I get the little icon at top for voicemails after that.  I'm unlocked as well.

rcrites1,

We appreciate the additional information you've shared with us. We understand that pricing is important to you. While you may not be able to continue the employee discount you were receiving on the plan, you will still be able to continue receiving any other benefits(i.e. accessory discounts) that your employer may have negotiated.

With regard to your voicemail, an unlocked phone won't necessarily have access to the applications a "branded" phone will have. Igraves1107 is right, to ensure you receive voicemail notifications on your unlocked phone, you'll want to turn off the Visual Voicemail option. This can be done by logging in to My Verizon then navigating to My Plans & Services > Manage Products & Apps > Manage Your Products and choose the Change or Remove option in the Visual Voicemail section. Alternatively, if you prefer using a visual voicemail type service, you may be able to find an app like YouMail useful. Voicemail apps can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store on your phone.

1) Reset network settings, get a new SIM card or your antenna is defective.

2) Even Verizon employees don't get discounts on that plan so it's not singling you out. Military and autopay only.

3) Less likely an actual hack and more likely someone knew/guessed at an easy to guess password for your My Verizon account. All orders would have sent a notification to your email. Highly suggest you updated passwords and have your email on file if it wasn't already. Change your billing PIN as well to be safe.

4) ...Huh? The prices are sold more or less at retail, it wouldn't be jacked by hundreds as claimed. Unless you factor a promo or factoring in a non direct store that isn't corporate, that statement simply isn't true. Also things like visual voicemail comes with the territory and isn't exclusively a Verizon fault.
