5 phone lines were created under my identity so I am trying to file a police report to close the account. I went to the police station to file a claim but the officers are requiring an IMEI for each phone. I spoke to two separate Verizon Representatives at the Fraud department and they both said that Verizon cannot provide the IMEI numbers per the company’s policy. I told the officers at the station but they refuse to create a report unless I can provide the IMEI numbers.
Has anyone encountered a similar situation where you were required to provide the IMEI numbers for phones that were created under your identity to officers?
I feel like I’m at a dead end and don’t know what actions to take at this point.
