If I have a prepaid SIM card and only plan to use my phone while overseas, if there is an emergency, do I still have to contact Verizon global before I go or get a plan?
I called Verizon global support and they enabled international dialing on my phone.
This is what I learned yesterday: I have to buy a Verizon SIM card ($30 cost is credited if I add the global voice value plan, which I believe is $5/month), because my phone is not unlocked. There are two stipulations to getting the phone unlocked: It has to be activated for 60 days prior (which mine isn't, unfortunately), and the account has to be in good standing. Or you can, of course, pay someone else to unlock it for you.
