Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue. I set up my e-mail via the e-mail set up. It works fine for incoming e-mails but I can not send or reply to any e-mails. I get an error. I'm assuming the issue is with the smtp set up for the outgoing mail. I set this up the same way as it's on my computer. I read on another thread about port numbers, this is the only thing I can see that can be wrong but I can't find anywhere to change the port number on the setup. I'm using Optonline.net on a Samsung Saga.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ....

Sure...
You need to change the outgoing SMTP mail set up. OOL will not let you send mail from a server which is not theirs.
First you need to have a VRZ WL online account "my account". Once you have that established go back into your e-mail set up and set the following:
Incoming Mail Server = mail-hub.optonline.net
Account Type= pop3
User Name = "Your Email Address"
Password = ????
Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server = smtp.vzwmail.net
Check - Outgoing mail requires Auth
Uncheck - Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail
User Name = "Your Phone Number"@vzwmail.net (you can also use your "my account" user name)
Password = "Your My Account" password"
Obviously everything in quotes needs to be changed to your information.
That should do it.
