You'll need to call Verizon from a 3rd phone to do that. They should be able to do it in 2 calls if you don't have a landline/3rd phone available.

So far my Rogue with the data block is going fine, accept that I am getting weekly text from Verizon about downloading or setting up my free Email account, Navigator and a couple other related text...
I have a DATA BLOCK!!! Why would I want these things let along be able to use them with a data block on my phone?
I still have a brand new Reality (the u370, non data plan required model) just in case I end up getting stuck with a data plan again, It isn't the same as a Rogue, more like the Rogue's little brother (biggest difference is no flash for camera).
From reading these forums and others I see a huge majority of cellphone users DON'T want Data Plans, but would like a nicer phone like EnvTouch, Rogues and others. Not these cheap crappy basic phones currently offered. Wondering why Cell providers don't cater a bit more to their customers.
I love the internet, just not on a tiny cellphone... Now put cellphone function into a 7--10" tablet, along with maybe a more reasonable purchase price and data plan price and I'd jump all over it.

Yes, you have to add a data plan when you order or activate it. Then you need to call verizon and have them remove it and put a data block on the line.

Dion I too am trying to activate my EnV touch and I do not want it to have a data plan of any sort. Could you please assist me in doing so. I would send you a personal message but I do not know how.

I just got my husband the ENV 3 which does not require the $10 data plan anymore but I had to go into a store to activate it since they had to do something on their end because of it once requiring that data plan so I bet it's the same thing. Mary

If you're not having luck getting this done, try messaging Verizon Support on Twitter @VZWSupport
2 Reps known by "CB" and "DP" really helped out
ALSO, for anyone who is interested in the exact process to do this, it's pretty simple. After activating your enV touch (and adding a $10 data package, by default), call, twitter, email or go into Verizon and have one of the associates remove the data package and add a data block. I am not sure whether adding the block will automatically cancel the data pack or if it is necessary to remove the data pack first, but the associate should know how to do it already if they are going to help you do this.
For some reason, Verizon employees do not all know about this process (or won't admit it ), so if you get one how won't help you, just call back and get someone else - OR use Twitter support like I suggested, it really does rock.

Seems like they've got some reps there that know more than your average call-center jockey. I talked to 2 reps known as "CB" and "DP" and they both knew that it could be done and then made it happen for me.

Our ENV3's still have pay per use data. Mine was bought before the data requirement and husbands they didn't block but did somethign at the store, added it then took it off. Reason I went in instead of calling is I was passing by there anyway since it's close and it's such a great store to deal with. They go out of there way to help you with stuff. Everyone needs a store like this one. Mary
