First off i'd like to say, this has been my first negative contact with Verizon. Probably my last as well. I was a customer with AT&T for a while till i got fed up with the customer service. I moved and Verizon was the best provider in the area so i gave it a shot and always had great success. When i needed something done, it got done the first time and right away. My phone completely crapped out on me (iPhone 4s) i only used it a year but its 2 years old and out of warranty.I have less than 2 months on my contract with Verizon, i simply asked if i could upgrade early. Was told no, definitely not unless i went android (no thanks, nothing against it just prefer my iPhone) so I call back again and ask to speak to a manager. Mind you I've been on 20 minute wait times just to get through to a rep. Rep will not put me on with a manager. And continues to try to sell me stuff on the Verizon edge program, i understand how the plans all work around here. I've done my research, but the rep is doing her job trying to make a sale and keep a customer. When i ask for a manager, worst thing you can do is blow me off and try to sell me something at full price when I have already told you that it's not going to happen. I eventually hang up out of frustration. 2 days later i get an offer for a new 5c with 2 year new contract. Although i appreciate the offer, if you're even considering locking me in 2 years i better have the latest and greatest. So i call and ask if i can switch the offer to a 5s... no such luck. Verizon i was honestly very pleased with your customer service up until now. It feels like AT&T all over again, so i believe this is where our relationship ends. After reading the forums, I have noticed I have many more options. t-mobile buys out contracts, i was already considering doing metro pcs. cut my bill in half and no contract. Thanks for all the guidance forums! Seems i'm not the only one displeased around here, this is business though, it happens. You win some and you lose some. During my lapse in contract (a year while i was deployed) Verizon was awesome at answering all my questions they helped me change my contract and save money where i could. i was offered many different promotional and exclusive offers. whenever i had a billing concern it was always fixed instantly with very friendly staff. So i don't want to seem like a "hater" verizon was a step up from at&t when i was a customer a few years ago
Barrikkade our goal is to always be our customers' advocate and make certain you're aware of all options to get into a working device! The Early Edge promotion will allow you to always have the ability to get into a new device sooner and the iPhone promo is exclusively for the 5C. However if you're not interested then we can look into other options. What's going on with your iPhone 4S? Has there been any physical/water damage?

I took it to apple first, there's no physical or water damage. Apple told me it's a known hardware issue and since it's not under warranty I'd have to buy a new one.
So they offer you an early upgrade to a better phone but because it's not the latest and greatest you're bent out of shape enough to complain on a forum? Talk about sense of self entitlement. Good luck with paying full retail cost on your phones with T-Mobile or whatever prepaid service you land on.
I appreciate you contacting the manufacturer. We do everything in our power to make sure you have a phone to meet your needs . I'm glad we've been able to offer you such exclusive offers, but I understand you want a different phone. I am pleased to confirm you can always get the newest and greatest with this program http://vz.to/ZILXBT .
