Contact for subpoena of specifics text messages

My company needs to see text messages that I sent from August of 2015 that are no longer on my phone.  Is it possible to retrieve those messages?  If so, who is the contact at Verizon for the lawyer and how much does it cost?

No, it is not possible to retrieve those messages. They are available on Verizon's servers for 5-10 days after which time they are written over with new messages. Verizon does not act as a repository for your messages, only a delivery service. If you want your text messages, you need to save them on your device or back them up to a location of your choosing. For example, I use SMS Backup & Restore to back up my text messages. It runs automatically each night and is automatically saved on my Google Drive. You may want to look into a similar service.

Personally, I don't ever delete text messages from my device. Texts do not take a lot of space on your phone, deleting them does not free up much space and I never really saw the need to delete them. From all the people who come on here looking for ways to recover deleted texts, I don't understand why people continue to delete them if they always appear to be looking for them at some later time in the future.

With a subpoena, your lawyer can speak to customer service and get these through the legal team, but I am pretty sure they don't store on the server that long. I think they can only go back about 30-90 days. Looks like you may be out of luck unless they are backed up to a Cloud source.

^ What they said. I can never remember how far back they store the text messages, but I knew it wasn't very long. Have you checked to see if they have been backing up to your Cloud?

Verizon Cloud will only store up to 90 days worth of messages before they are overwritten.

For example, I have text messages on my current phone as far back as early 2011 thanks to that particular application you linked. Smiley Happy

How accurate are the times of the text messages on the text records that are subpoenaed?

How do homicide detectives find and request the content of texts long past 10 days then? I think the answer is subpoena paperwork at the court house. Saying that that content is forever gone is blasphemy in the world we live in now. Nothing is ever fully gone. Good luck.
