Cancellation of service

I am no longer under contract with Verizon Wireless.  Please advise on the process for canceling the service.   There are no steps to achieve this on their web site.  Don't really want to listen to another sales pitch.  Per hearsay, I understand this is a difficult and trying task.  Thanks!

You can't cancel a line of service on-line; you have to either visit a Corporate VzW store or call Customer Service.
