I want to buy an unlocked phone on ebay but the one I want is a GSM phone. Can I use an unlocked GSM phone on Verizon? I heard that it is a CDMA network but I also heard that it was switching to WCDMA in 2015.
That will not work. Right now, Verizon still requires CDMA on the phone. Eventually, several years down the line, it won't matter, but not now or likely for the next 12 months.
Unless it is a certain seller or price-point, most all flagship phones have a Verizon version, the exception being carrier-exclusive handsets, ie...most prepaid and lower-end phones.
