CSR's with no common sense

I just called Verizon to ask to sign up with 2 new 4s iphones for the family plan of 1400.  I currently have AT&T for my family plan, but also have a Verizon Mifi device for $35/month.  They told me that I had to wait until November to upgrade my Mifi account to a full fledged Family plan.  I told them that I could not wait and that I'll just renew at AT&T.  He asked me if there was anything else he could do for me.

Yes, there is << Please keep your posts courteous >> !  Get some common sense or math skills, I just now purchased it all from AT&T.  You squabbled over 4 months worth of $35/month for $450 sign up and $220/month (with data plans/hotspots,etc).  If you can't do that math, I don't want you for my cell carrier anyhow.  Thanks, happy to stay with AT&T, they just got my $450 and will continue paying them $200/month for the next 2 years. lol.

You could have added two new lines and had 3 total lines with verizon..not sure how that didnt happen when you called

Unless you were trying to upgrade your mifi early or something

Noooo, they 'squabbled' over the fact that they have a contract with Apple that dissallows early upgrades or additional discounts.

I didn't want to get into detail on this since it's a moot point, but the

first guy I talked to said that I could upgrade my hotspot to 2 phones. He

confirmed that, then passed me on to the next guy to go ahead and

purchase/set it up. The next then tells me I can't do that and that the

previous guy was wrong. It doesn't make sense for me to have a hotspot and

a new iphone, it does, however, make sense for me to have an iphone with the

hotspot added. That way I don't have to carry around the old mifi hotspot.

I was willing to pay a termination fee on the current hotspot account in

order to do this, not a big deal, but we didn't even get to that.

The first CSR was wrong.  However, you could have paid the ETF on the MIFI and then opened a new family account with 2 IPhones.

While it makes sense, it doesn't. Hence the subject line. I was about to

buy two new iphones with 2 year contracts upgrading from a verizon mifi 2200

(old school). I'd pay the term fee, not a big deal, but he didn't even

offer that option.

That makes sense, I take it your not a Verizon CSR.

No, but there is one issue I forgot about.  I remember something about if you cancel a contract you have to wait a few months before you can come back to Verizon.  Maybe that was the problem with that approach.  Also, a MIFI contract is not a voice plan, so I don't think you can add phones to a MIFI contract.  It sounds like Verizon has some restrictions that might not make a lot of sense.  Maybe you could have done the ETF and then opened a new account in your wife's name.

Yep, agreed, the original guy told me a completely different story. Oh

well, I'll re-assess after two years.
