Your My Verizon app will tell you if a line is eligible for an upgrade or not. Checking through the app is a matter of signing in, going to devices and observing the status.
Payment is taken by a secure link, not by the sales rep. The timelines of that depends on you as the customer. Once payment is taken and T&C is accepted, the order is processed. Doing this online instead of calling in even faster. If you ordered towards the weekend, shipping will take longer. This is something to be expected.
Nothing is free. Verizon is a business, a business doesn't stay up if the company is giving away goods with nothing in return. A BOGO doesn't "use up credits". BOGOs require, and always have, a new line of service / port in. That "free" phone comes at the exchange of you staying with Verizon for 24 months. If you disconnect that line or leave early, you are charged the remaining balance of the equipment.
I can't make out the rest of this gibberish.
