Attempted to get a new sim card at my local store?

In your forums it says you can get a new sim card at Corporate store I went to the one at 3451 SW College Rd Ocala, FL 34474, waited for 25 minutes after telling them why I was there and then they refused to give me one without having my new phone with me. I had to call in to customer service to have them send one to me and they were very helpful. You might want to refrain your employees, been a customer for 25 years and was treated like terribly.

They do need to activate the SIM card in the store and it is helpful to have a phone to activate it in.

@ghh, we truly appreciate your long time loyalty, and want to apologize for the bad experience you had at the store. This is not how we treat our customers. Verizon Wireless has a strong customer commitment to delivering the best from our service and staff. I am disappointed to hear the service you received did not reflect this commitment.

Usually our direct VZW stores can provide you a free SIM card for your phone. I am not sure why they were unable to provide one for you. I'm sure they wanted to ensure that the SIM card would work properly on the new phone, and that is why they asked that you have the phone with you in order for them to test the phone. I apologize for the long wait time you had at the store with no resolution. I'm glad to hear that our Customer Service team was able to mail out a SIM card for your new phone.

Please be assured appropriate action will be taken and we will continue providing ongoing training to all of our employees. We hope we can restore your confidence in Verizon Wireless and prove we are worthy of your continued business.

25 years doesn't change the fact asking for a sim card without your phone is an odd request. With a non active sim, you may as well have a plastic child toy - it'd be as useful.
