Assumption of Liability and unlimited data.

I seem to get different answers from every Verizon support chat person I speak to, some say that the unlimited data plan still transfers during an AOL, and some say you have to move to a shared data plan. What exactly is the status on this? I see that there are still plans with unlimited data being sold on eBay, Howard Forums, Macrumors, and see talk of people having it transfer just fine as frequent as this week.

Can someone clarify the status on this?

Also, is it still possible to turn an individual plan into a family plan that is NOT a share everything plan?

Well to me the person doing the AOL would be a new account since they haven't had service in their name before. Thus to me it seems logical that one would be put on Share Everything. Of course just because it seems logical doesn't mean that's the way it would work. I also doubt you can go from a single plan to a family plan with going with Share Everything. That's not quite the same as increasing texting or minutes. Once again seems logical to me doesn't mean that's the way it works. In either case you have to either call or go to a Verizon store and then you'd be pretty much at the mercy of whatever they tell you.

When a line is AOL'd to another account, whether it's new or existing, it is transferred by default with its existing plan. AOL's do not drop grandfathered features such as unlimited data.
