American Heart Association spam calls?

jtp1
Member

I have gotten 3 calls from a restricted number claiming to be the American Heart Association with a public service announcement about getting heart checkups. Any advice on blocking restricted numbers? I can't seem to get any assistance from Verizon--the chat function is always busy and they don't display a customer service number to call.

jtp1,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with getting in touch with us! We can be reached at 800-922-0204 or *611 from your mobile phone when chat is not available. We can also be reached on Twitter or Facebook.

As already indicated you cannot use traditional call blocking when the number is restricted or unknown. You can block all incoming calls from numbers listed as private, restricted or unavailable using the Family Base feature! It's only $4.99 per month. You can see the details here: http://vz.to/1sNVeH7 and sign up for it right here: http://vz.to/1sNVfuI .

Since the number is restricted, there's no way to "block" it since you don't know what it is.  A third party service like You Mail or Google Voicemail provides the ability to block unknown callers and those services are free.  If you have a smartphone, there are apps that can control who gets through to your phone
