Already Own Equipment, Not a Customer

I wanted to know if I already own a device by Verizon, but I am not a customer do I have to pay a deposit if I sign up? I was contemplating going to month to month and wasn't sure if I'd still have to pay a deposit or not regardless of the contract I have.

You still have to go through credit check and if after that you require to pay a deposit then you have to pay for it in order to get the service.

Second what glinc said and also add that since you own the equipment, your only contract option is month to month. One and two year contracts are for phones purchased from Verizon Wireless. If you end up having to pay a deposit, your better off on a one or two year contract because your phone will be new, (maybe even free!) and have a one year warranty. You get your deposit back in one year with a good payment history. You may also want to consider getting a prepaid phone that requires no credit check or deposits, but you will still need to buy a phone, probably less than $50.
