I have a Razr Maxx that for various reasons, want to send to my brother. It would have to be shipped so the device would be off, and the 4G SIM would not be in it. I plan on getting an S3 within the next couple weeks (will revert to my Droid X in the meantime). Will my 4G SIM work if it sits on the shelf for a couple weeks and not in an active 4G device? Or does it go inactive, as I've heard, when a 3G device is activated on my account, or if it isn't in an active 4G device for more than a day? I've searched but could not find an answer to this question.
Thanks!

No. I believe it can be inactive for maybe 7 days. I remember switching phones once and the online message will state how long it can be inactive. But it is a short period

Thanks so much for this very popular question, ms960.
We have recently made some changes to the 4G SIM "aging" process.
This means that you can not use the SIM for up to 365 days before you won't be able to use it again.
If the SIM is not reactivated within 365 days, the 4G SIM card retires permanently.
I trust this information is helpful to you.
