I noticed about 2 weeks ago, my 3g dropped to 1x. my data speeds are extremely slow to inoperable. I have reset network settings and updated roaming through *228. I have chatted with verizon wireless on facebook, who suggested I must have damaged my phone somehow. My phone has never been so much as dropped, and it has an otterbox on it. I am on an iphone 4 with ios 7.1.1. Zip codes are 93257 and 93267, which I was told have "excellent coverage" and no reported problems. Well, I'm reporting one! What else can be done? IS Verizon going to reduce my bill until this is fixed? I am currently paying for services that are not up to par or non existent!

I know that service issues are frustrating sspring but we are here to help find you some answers. ARe the service issues inside or outside? Have you tried resetting the network settings http://vz.to/1isIoGW. Are you having any issues with applications on your phone?

Hello,
I have reset my network settings 3 times. I have also reset
roaming at *228. I still am running on 1x everywhere. Inside, outside,
at home and in neighboring towns. I have not had any problems with
applications while on wi-fi. My data is extremely slow to unusable if
not on wi-fi. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems,
according to the forums that people all over the country have been
having the same problem for several months.

Thanks for all of your efforts, sspring. It sounds to me like issue could be with your device. Especially with the problems that are occurring in multiple locations. Has the phone ever been replaced? Is the device still under the one year warranty?

I have exactly the same problem in 29388 zip. iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.1
Ever since the update seems like i keep dropping back from 3G to 1X. Cycling airplane mode seems to bring it back onto 3G for a little while.
Have a feeling its more than just device specific problems.
Stacy - any chance you were an old Alltel customer before the merger?

I have been with Verizon for years. But I am on an old unlimited
data plan, and I'm beginning to wonder if that is the issue with all the
people that are reporting the same problems. Tech support keeps telling
me there is something wrong with my phone and I need to upgrade. Sounds
a bit questionable.

I have been having same issues with intermittent (non existent) data connection. Get the same responses, and am planning to look at other providers as I know I can save money and most likely improve on service.
I uploaded pictures that show no data connection, then a connection at 1X from last hour with "new" phone received this afternoon. Also have thread started for data issue.

The phone is not under warranty. I find it odd that only the data is
affected and no other part of the phone's operations. I see that this
is happening all over the country for the last several months according
to these forums. Are all these people having the same "problems with
their device". Seems a bit unlikely doesn't it?

Yes, it is very unlikely that "mysteriously" multiple people are having the same issue and it isn't something with network or older phones that they are trying to get customers to upgrade to new phone on more expensive plan.

So you got a new phone , with your same old plan and have the same
issue? Has Verizon commented on this?
